The MacLean Construction PEI Men's CG's Soccer team finished out its Maritime Senior Men's Soccer League on a high note with a 4-2 victory over the NB CG's side in a game played Saturday afternoon at the UPEI turf. The win gives the PEI squad a 5-5-1 won/loss/tie record in the league going into the CG's tournament in two weeks time.
MacLean Construction's Logan Dawson opened the scoring in the 32nd minute followed by Will Allen's first of two on the day in the 41st. NB's Jeff Pelgrin made it a 2-1 score line to end the half on a goal in the 45th minute.
PEI opened a 4-1 lead on goals by Brett Hogan (63rd) and Allen's second (83rd) with NB's Eustache Karyc (85th) closing out the scoring.
Goalkeeping duties were shared with Brett MacDonald in the first half and Alex Quinn in the second. "I was pleased with our defending in today's game," said coach Lewis Page. "I felt our team controlled most of the game and was worthy of the win. We'll now do our final preparations for our two big games against Manitoba and Ontario on the 25th and 26th." at the CG's.
